Return tae Orkney fae Invergarry

20170616_111631Well that’s the week at Ardgarry Farm lodge over. I would like to thank Kevin & Angie who have only just taken over the ownership of this beautiful accommodation  very recently. (apologies Angie didnae get yer photo).

We were given a wonderful send off from Kevin & Angie on our departure & thoroughly enjoyed my dram from Kevin when we arrived home 🍻. We will definitely return here in the future👍.

We stopped once again at Fort Augustus

19531741_10206915801493783_1257152576_o for some souvenirs etc after all it is a lovely spot to stretch your legs and give the pooch 🐕 some relief before the journey north.

We decided to go home via Beauly, Muir of Ord and stopping at Dingwall for  an alfresco Scotch pies & coffees from Deas bakery.

Lovely town with a great pedestrian street, great facilities and shops,

all with easy access from the ample parking area. We enjoyed beautiful scenery on the rest of our journey to Wick, where we filled the car up with petrol as the price of fuel In Orkney is still  dearer that the mainland, even with our so called “5p” subsidy 😠.

The Pentalina ferry from Gills Bay to St Margarets Hope, was a calm crossing, so an ideal time to have some hot or cold filled rolls🍔 and some lovely home made soup.🍜

After a couple of days back in Orkney, I was lucky enough to catch these photos of Kirkwall harbour the night before the longest day.

    • Thanks Bernie, he is our wee boy. He went blind at 20 months old. He had to get his first eye removed as the pupil blew and he was in so much pain. The other eye also went the same way and it also had to be removed not long after. He’s now 8 years old and is amazing. He surprises us every day with his abilities as a totally blind dog. Love him to bits.
