Letters: Scrapping of Employment Tribunal Fees

Dear Orkney News,

UNISON are to be congratulated on taking the UK government to court over the introduction of employment tribunal fees and winning because the Supreme Court decided the government acted unlawfully and unconstitutionally.  The fees are now scrapped.

The coalition government, Tories and Liberal Democrats, brought in the employment tribunal fees.

Just as well the Supreme Court is there to protect us from the actions of the Tories and the Liberal Democrats.

Yours, Brian Nugent, Shetland

  1. Aye and our MP was part of that Government. I know that people are to have their costs refunded but can people who did not pursue a JUST case because of costs, can they now re-visit their rightful claims????
