It has been 2 years of sometimes frustrating effort to get to this point and Morgan  Harcus praised and thanked the Committee for their assistance and support during this time. There were many Orkney firms and individuals who have supported The Mens Shed during this period and are continuing to do so.

Morgan Harcus again emphasized the importance of the social side of the shed and men who just want to drop in for a cuppa and yarn , a game of dominoes, crib or whatever are very welcome indeed that is part of what the Mens Shed is about.

A lot of equipment has already been  kindly donated and some has already been put to good use.

Friday evening saw the Official opening of the Orkney Mens Shed by Liam McArthur in front of  around 50 or so people.
