Bernie Bell (small bear) and Mike go on a road trip
A bit of a mixture…………..
Saturday 29th April – continuing – The Dunchraicaig walk – cairn amid monkey-puzzle trees!. Then along to Balnachraig rock art outcrop ( a kindly shower of rain showed off the cup and ring carvings).
Then back past the cairn again, to Ballymeanoch standing stones, cairn and henge. River stones. (BB The over-view on the information board, gives a better picture of it, than the ones which we took.)
More BB – You’ll see that there is a river running by this site. It has some interesting little stones in it. Some of these stones, have metal in them, which links with the importance of this area in the Iron Age both as a source and a trade route.)
Then on to the ‘Tileworks’ walk at the Moine Mhor – a little bit of magic with tiles set into the path
tiny clay houses , dream catchers and faces in the trees,
And more.
Met very enthusiastic scouse lad – Jack – with nice Lochgilphead girl, Aisling and her collie, Cassie. Also , Jake the Bernese Mountain dog with owner. Jake and Cassie very interested in one another……….
Bernie and Mike continue their road trip. Follow the Orkney News to keep apace with them …….
