And so we headed home
Via a detour to Corrieshallock Gorge and Falls, which the man we spoke with at Loch Eriboll had told us about. We hadn’t had time on the way to Lewis, so we went on the way back , instead. It’s good to talk!
There is a good walk, which takes you along the side of the gorge, to a bridge across the river, then over the bridge, and back along the other side and up the hill, with views over to Loch Broom, through the hills.
We stopped for lunch at the Oykel Bridge Hotel, where the friendly barkeep told us about the River Oykel Falls, which he thought we’d like to see, and he was right! A different kind of falls from Corrieshallock – each impressive in their own way.
And then we, went home. This was about 5 years ago, and, come this May, we mean to – hope to, go to Harris!
