  • 2tsp of Peppermint Essence
  • 100g Chocolate (optional)
  • Water, not much, start very slowly
  1. In a large bowl empty the box of icing sugar.
  2. Add the peppermint essence.
  3. Very slowly add water a little at a time until you have an extremely stiff mix.
  4. Roll into marble sized balls, if the mix feels too wet add ordinary icing sugar until the fondant is workable.
  5. Place balls on grease proof paper on a large tray about 2″ apart.
  6. Press a fork into each of the balls to create a flat and decorative sweetie.
  7. Allow the sweets to dry out until hard on the outside.
  8. Melt the chocolate according to the packet instructions and dip or cover your sweeties according to preference.
  9. Allow chocolate to harden, eat and enjoy.

  1. those peppermint creams look lovely Helen – on a similar theme (sorta) a nice dessert is vanilla ice-cream, spot of your peppermint essence ( or a dribble of creme di menthe for the grown-ups at the table) and melted dark chocolate poured over the top
