The cumulative total of Covid cases is now at 328 as 1 new positive test result was recorded in the Orkney Health Board area.

The stats for Scotland published on 5th of October 2021 are as follows:
- 2,056 new cases of COVID-19 reported
- 21,358 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
- 10.3% of these were positive
- 21 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
- 65 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 998 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 4,223,719 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,849,656 have received their second dose
Deaths in Scotland
In the week ending 26 September, 165 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate
Since the start of the outbreak:
- 8,687 people have died who have tested positive as at 5 October
- 10,991 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 26 September
- 31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 26 September)
