Week Forty-eight – One Day At A Time

November the Twenty-sixth……………………..It was hard to find something to lift the day…..Foul weather…….Frightening news at home and abroad…….Very hard……Then I saw this…..  https://twitter.com/i/status/1463991729800032256

They just can’t help groovin’!

November the Twenty-seventh…………………..Snow on the tail of Arwen………It’s exciting!……It just ….IS!…..

November the Twenty-eighth……… The weather meant that Mike was in the garage……Out of the snow…..Making a start on the roof of his mini-broch…………It still needs thatching……That’s the next job.………

November the Twenty-ninth……….We enjoy…….Seeing the birds appreciate……The seeds & fruits of Autumn…..

November the Thirtieth………A different kind of dawn-light……..

December the First!!!!…………..Opening the first door on our Paddington Advent Calendar…..We get one every year from UNICEF  ……. https://market.unicef.org.uk/unicef-cards-and-gifts/christmas-decor/unicef-gifts/

And, saw a heron at the pond for the first time this season – a bit early/gloomy to get a pic – but it was there!

December the Second…………..The Hedgehog House has emerged!….It’s tucked in under the hedge, and disappears in the summer……..Then the leaves fall…….And it re-appears.

We don’t know if they use it…….We know there are hedgehogs in the garden, as we see and hear them – including seeing their poo!……….The only way to know if they use the house would be to look …….Which would be a daft thing to do!

  1. Thanks for the Jackdaw Spell rap – brightened another dreich day. It’s a fabulous book with Jackie Morris’s wonderful illustrations.

  2. I’ve been thinking some more about this……it’s pretty much why Jackie & Mr. Mac. put ‘The Lost Words’ together.
The words were being removed from children’s dictionaries. Jackie & Mr Mac. put the book together – from that came spells and songs to keep the words alive – and then – three lads, going to a woodland, and doing the Jackdaw rap. They’ll know what a Jackdaw is – the word, and the awareness of the creature, continues.

    GOOD!
