  1. I’m wondering what the cumulative total of deaths from Covid is for Orkney? I’m not being morbid – but it’s a number that matters.

Personally, I don’t fear death – what I fear is being seriously ill again and Mike having to look after me while trying to get on with his work, again. That was horrible, and I’ll avoid it if I possibly can.

But I realise that the big fear for many people is death.

I’m remembering a woman last year commenting in TON that she was coming to Orkney for her holiday as planned, as there hadn’t been any deaths here – when there had been.

Sometimes comparisons are made with numbers of deaths from other causes. But, mostly, those other cause aren’t infectious diseases – so the comparisons aren’t really relevant.
