Dull with a mix of rain, sleet and hill snow persisting across Orkney. A few brighter spells in Shetland with occasional sleet and snow showers. Strong to gale easterly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight:
Rain and sleet clearing southern parts of Orkney towards midnight. Mainly cloudy thereafter, and rather cold with a few wintry showers. Strong to gale easterly or northeasterly winds easing. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Thursday 7th April:
Cold with bright spells and scattered showers, wintry at times and becoming more frequent through the afternoon. Fresh, occasionally strong northerly or northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Remaining cold into the weekend with a mix of rain, sleet and snow showers at times. There will be some bright or clear spells too. Occasionally strong northerly winds easing.
