#Covid Weekly Update Scotland: 12% Increase in Hospitalisations

In the latest week ending 2 October 2022 the figures on the Public Health Scotland website are as follows:

In the week ending 25 September 2022, there were 33 deaths involving COVID-19 (8 fewer than the previous week). (Source: National Records of Scotland)

In Scotland, in the week ending 20 September 2022, the estimated number of people testing positive for COVID-19 was 117,100 (95% credible interval: 93,600 to 143,500), equating to 2.22% of the population, or around 1 in 45 people. (Source: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Survey, UK – Office for National Statistics)

Testing for  coronavirus’ ribonucleic acid (RNA) in local waste water samples in Scotland continues to show high positive levels.

All covid rules and restrictions have been lifted in Scotland, but the virus has not gone away.
