Shetland will have a dry and bright day with some sunny spells. Orkney will be dry too, but with rather more cloud and becoming overcast later in the day. Feeling chilly in the fresh to strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
Dry with some clear spells at first over Shetland, otherwise cloudy with patchy rain spreading northwards overnight. Strong winds for Shetland but easing a little over Orkney though becoming murky. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Saturday 6th May:
Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle and rather murky too with haar and this likely extensive across Orkney. Still rather windy and cold in the strong southeast winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Cloudy and murky at times with rain Sunday and Monday but drier and brighter over Orkney on Monday. Drier Monday night with winds turning southwest and easing then showers Tuesday.
