The chance of the odd light shower this morning, otherwise dry and bright with occasional sunny spells. The brisk northwest winds across Shetland easing down. Cool. Maximum temperature 14 °C.


Dry with variable cloud cover, some sunny or clear spells expected. Winds mainly light, but freshening from the southeast across Orkney later in the night. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Thursday 27th July:

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will push into Orkney with mist patches later in the day. Shetland staying dry and bright with some sunshine possible. Moderate to fresh southeast winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Low cloud and haar could be extensive at times, particularly on Friday with some rain and drizzle. Brighter spells over the weekend with showery outbreaks of rain. Moderate southeast winds.
