Collaborative Journalism ‘The Scottish Beacon’ Shortlisted for Top Awards

Collaborative journalism project ‘The Scottish Beacon’ has been shortlisted for two awards at the British Journalism Awards, including Innovation of the Year.

A first of its kind in Scotland, The Scottish Beacon is a collaborative network of independent local and hyperlocal newsrooms serving urban and rural communities. It includes The Orkney News, Shetland News and a host of other publications across Scotland.

The British Journalism Awards  will take place on Thursday 14th December 2023 at the London Hilton Bankside.

The Scottish Beacon is shortlisted in two categories

    1. BBC Scotland political journalists deserve an award for not holding the incompetent Scottish Government to account and giving them ample opportunity to skirt around the truth.
