Photo ID Required at UK General Election

When the UK goes to the polls for the General Election voters will require to provide Photo ID in order to cast their vote. You will not be able to vote without it.

New regulations brought in by the UK Government mean that for anyone voting in person, a form of photo ID will be needed. This does not apply to anyone who uses a postal vote.

Residents in Orkney and Shetland who do not have one of the accepted forms of ID can apply for free ID, either online or by completing a paper application form and sending this to the Electoral Registration Office in Orkney at 8 Broad Street, Kirkwall.
