Rain over Shetland clearing and becoming dry for a time, with some sunshine. However afternoon showers are likely to develop, a few will turn heavy especially for Orkney. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tonight:
A few showers continuing for Orkney but dying out later leaving clear conditions. Sunny spells for Shetland through the evening and winds falling quite light. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Wednesday 21st August:
A dry and bright morning with light winds but cloud gathering from the west by late morning and a wet afternoon for Orkney, reaching Shetland by mid afternoon, strengthening winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
A wet and windy morning on Thursday but rain clearing east leaving sunshine and showers which continue into the weekend, perhaps more persistent rain for a time Friday.
