A mostly dry day a good deal of sunshine. Some patchy cloud at times and just the odd passing light shower possible during the afternoon. Fresh or strong south-westerly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Tonight:
The odd light shower is possible at first, otherwise it will be a largely dry and clear night. Fresh southeasterly winds will strengthen southwesterly towards dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Sunday 23 February YELLOW WARNING WIND:
Wet and very windy with southeasterly gales or severe gales. Rain heavy at times for Shetland, but light and patchy for Orkney and becoming brighter in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Sunny spells and scattered showers during the start of next week. Southwesterly gales on Monday will gradually ease, albeit remaining rather breezy during Tuesday and Wednesday.
