Highlands and Islands SNP MSP Emma Roddick has welcomed new figures which reveal £77,000 has been invested in Orkney’s playparks in 2024-25.
£178,000 in total has been invested to improve play parks throughout Orkney: including Orkney Skate Park; Brandyquoy Play area; Marwick; and Eday. (Playpark improvement fund)

The Scottish Government has provided £35 million to renew or improve play parks since May 2021 – £15 million in 2024/25 alone. A total of 887 play parks have been renewed, or were being renewed in Scotland, up to April 2024.
