Rather cloudy start over Shetland with any showers at first soon dying out. Then dry with some hazy sunny spells over Orkney extending to Shetland for the rest of the day. Freshening southeasterly winds through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight:
It will be dry through the evening and overnight with lengthy clear periods. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds however it will be milder than previous nights. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Friday 21 March:
Another dry and bright day with spells of rather hazy sunshine. Strong to near gale force southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Strong winds and gales on Saturday with outbreaks of rain. Strong winds and rain gradually ease through Sunday before a mostly dry and settled Monday.
