Andy Rose and Sheena Cooper completed a Charity Skydive on 18 April at Fife airfield raising money for The Scottish Air Ambulance.
Writing in The Stronsay Limpet, Sheena says:
“The day started off clear and frosty but cloud rapidly started coming in and we were only able to jump from 7500 feet instead of 10,000 plus. We were just glad it was possible to jump at all!
After a 30 minute briefing on what to do/ positions to assume etc we were suited and harnessed ready to go! The plane was a very well worn Cessna! I went first and it took 15 -20 minutes to reach a suitable height ( the flight was spent sitting strapped onto your instructor) Then the door opened and you were shuffled to the gap, legs dangling out, a second later you were out and tumbling through the sky (no idea which way was up at this point). Andy loved this bit, I shut my eyes!

Once the chute opened it was incredible, it felt like you were suspended in the sky with the most amazing views all the way round! Steering the parachute was interesting and we both agreed too much swooping around would have resulted in us both losing what little breakfast we’d managed to eat. All too soon we were approaching the airfield and landing, gently and reasonably gracefully!
