A dry and bright day with variable, often large amounts of cloud but also, especially for Orkney, some decent sunny spells. Mainly light southerly or southwesterly breeze. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Tonight:
Some late bright or sunny spells this evening then dry overnight with clear spells. Southwesterly breeze, becoming fresh at times for Shetland. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Friday 9 May:
Another dry and bright day with some good spells of sunshine. Feeling quite warm in the sunshine across Orkney with light winds, but Shetland cooler with occasionally fresh southwesterly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Remaining largely dry and settled with clear or sunny spells, but rather cloudier across Shetland on Monday with a risk of showers. Occasionally fresh southerly or southwesterly breeze.
