Rather cloudy this morning with showers, most frequent across Shetland where they may merge to give longer spells of, occasionally heavy, rain. Best of any brighter spells across Orkney and perhaps later for northern Shetland. Strong northwesterly winds easing. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
Any more persistent rain across Shetland soon clearing, otherwise a mix of clear spells and showers through the evening and overnight. Occasionally fresh northwesterly winds continue to ease. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Tuesday 23 September :
Sunny spells and scattered showers on Tuesday morning, the showers becoming fewer and further between through the afternoon. Mainly light winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Largely dry with clear or sunny spells through Wednesday and Thursday with slowly freshening southerly winds. Friday largely dry too but rain reaches Orkney later, with strengthening southeasterly winds.
