This year, since 27 May 2025, 2,580 people in Gaza have been killed when trying to get food and other supplies at an Aid centre. 18,930 have been injured.
As of 1 October, 455 people in Gaza have starved to death. 151 of those deaths were children.
On 27 September, at about 15:55, at least eight Palestinians from the same family, including four children, were killed and many others injured when a centre housing displaced people was hit in Ad Daraj, in Gaza city.
Between Wednesday 24 September and Wednesday 1 October 429 Palestinians were killed, and 1,556 were injured in Gaza in just that one week.
“The Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces have committed and are continuing to commit the following actus reus of genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, namely (i) killing members of the group; (ii) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (iii) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and (iv) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group.” – Legal analysis of the conduct of Israel in Gaza pursuant to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
On Friday, 3 October, a newborn baby died at the besieged Al-Helou Hospital in Al-Nasr, Gaza which was targeted by heavy Israeli bombing.
Staff managed to evacuate 3 premature babies but there were still 10 premature babies that were unable to be rescued remaining in the nursery unit.

Today, Saturday 4 October, people in Orkney will again stand in vigil for Gaza on the Kirk Green, Broad Street, Kirkwall between 1 and 2pm. They invite all those to join with them who wish to see an immediate ceasefire, the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and the release of all hostages.
