Wintry showers generally dying out this morning with some bright spells. Cloudy in the afternoon as more persistent rain spreads eastwards, heavy at times and reaching Shetland by late afternoon. Strong southerly winds developing through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
Cloudy with rain spreading and clearing eastwards this evening, with clear intervals developing thereafter. Clear spells overnight with the odd shower possible also. Strong to gale force winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Tuesday 24 March :
A mix of some bright and sunny spells interspersed with blustery showers, which may be heavy at times. Winds remaining strong with a risk of gales. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Showers Wednesday turning increasingly wintry. Wintry showers Thursday before becoming dry and bright. Friday turns cloudy with rain clearing to showers. Winds mostly fresh to strong, briefly lighter Thursday.
