A fine end to the day with well broken cloud, some clear spells possible. Outbreaks of rain reaching Orkney overnight and perhaps Shetland by dawn. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Thursday 3 September :
Rain, heavy and times during the morning, but drier and brighter conditions soon reaching Orkney. These drier and brighter conditions then pushing into Shetland in the afternoon. Showers later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Windy with showers on Friday and Saturday, strong westerly winds at times. Bright with occasional sunny spells. Rain pushing north on Sunday.
