Rain at first, occasionally heavy, but clearing by mid-morning as a mix of sunshine and scattered showers follow from the southwest. Showers building late afternoon. Brisk southwest winds, perhaps touching gale force at first over Shetland. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
Showers quite frequent early evening with some heavier outbreaks developing, before dwindling from the south late evening. Cloud increasing overnight to bring some patchy rain by dawn. Southerly winds strengthening. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Wednesday 14 October :
Gales developing, perhaps touching storm force in Shetland later. Cloudy with some patchy light rain by day, which turns persistent and heavier for the evening. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Showery. Some heavier outbreaks appearing through to early Friday, then turning less frequent and lighter from late Friday. Winds veering northwest on Saturday.
