Mainly dry in the morning with just the odd shower and winds continuing to ease. Rain will spread north into Orkney in the afternoon with strengthening southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
Rain across Orkney will quickly move up into Shetland before clearing away north. Some blustery showers will follow from the southwest. Strong southerly winds with gales developing overnight. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Tuesday 27 October :
Some brightness at first, otherwise mainly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain. Severe gale force southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Bright spells and showers on Wednesday then mainly dry and bright on Thursday and Friday. Gales easing on Wednesday morning but staying rather breezy thereafter.
