Some Easing of #Covid19 Restrictions in Orkney From Friday

Announced today, 10th of November, by the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, was a review of the tiers assigned to each Local Authority area.

Orkney is to remain at Level 1, however, groups of 2 households of up to 6 people will now be permitted to meet indoors.

Summary of reasons for Orkney at Tier 1

The FM warned that importation of the virus into island areas: Orkney, Western Isles and Shetland, was a real danger. As a result the Scottish Government will be issuing guidance about travel to and from the islands.

The clear guidance will be to avoid in-house mixing if you have arrived into Orkney.

No Local Authority will be going up to tier 4 in Scotland from Friday. 3 areas have moved up from tier 2 to 3: Fife, Perth & Kinross and Angus. All other areas have remained at their present levels. You can find all the information and the reasons for the decisions here:
