Orkney which for so long had few Covid positive cases has seen recent increases and today, 9th of January, has recorded a cumulative total of 45.

Looking at the R-number in Scotland it does seem that this localised approach, which ensures the economy and some social contact can still take place, is working – albeit slowly.
Heavy rain is forecast to continue to affect this area until Wednesday afternoon.
There is a risk of coastal flooding in this area on Sunday due to a combination of high tides, surge and waves. The greatest risk is around the time of high tide. Potential impacts include isolated flooding affecting individual properties, localised flooding of exposed land and roads, and spray and wave overtopping.
