Another positive case of Covid19 has been recorded in Orkney bringing the cumulative total to 62.
The stats for Scotland recorded on 30th January 2021 are as follows:
- 994 new cases of COVID-19 reported
- 22,056 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results – 5.8% of these were positive
- 60 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
- 142 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 1,952 people are in hospital with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 543,370 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 7,638 have received their second dose
This slow but steady increase in Orkney is worrying. But some good news the positivity rate in Scotland has gone down to 5.8%.
And on Vaccination
By 8:30am on Saturday, 30 January:
- 543,370 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 7,638 have received the second dose
- 28,792 care home residents (96% of residents in older adult care homes and 90% of residents in all care homes)
- 38,416 care home staff (85% of staff in older adult care homes and 74% of staff in all care homes)
- 170,024 people aged 80 or over living in the community (68%) – this excludes care home residents who are reported separately
- 246,803 frontline health and social care workers exceeding the initial target of 230,000 staff provided by Health Boards.
N.B. Individuals can appear in more than one eligibility criteria.
