Another positive case of Covid19 has been recorded in Orkney bringing the cumulative total to 62.
Orkney’s cumulative total of Covid19 positive test results is now at 35.
As numbers of positive cases of Covid19 continue to be recorded in Orkney, now at 33 in total, it has been confirmed that the islands will be placed in the Tier 1 level of restrictions in Scotland starting on Monday.
The cumulative number of positive Covid19 tests recorded in Orkney now stands at 31.

As well as the large numbers being recorded for the virus in the 5 Health Board areas under stricter measures Orkney also recorded yet another case and the Western Isles 2 more.
Fifteen newly reported deaths have occurred of people who tested positive for Covid19 in Scotland. The figures released by the Scottish Government today (20th October) also record 1,456 new cases – including one new case in Orkney.
Today, 19th of September 2020, 350 new cases of the virus Covid19 were reported in Scotland. Sadly there were also 3 deaths of people who had tested positive.
“Being a small island nation has been an advantage” to be able to “think innovatively and be more flexible”. The Faroes used what they had and responded quickly taking their own independent decisions for their islands.
The viability of home testing kits and what is happening to mobile testing units in the Highlands has been questioned by Labour’s Rhoda Grant MSP.
