Orkney’s total number of confirmed Covid cases is now at 72. The last new case recorded in Orkney was on 21st of March.
Starting on Monday 26th of April people from mainland Scotland will be able to travel to Orkney.
People who wish to travel to Orkney, as Scotland eases its Covid restrictions, are being asked to take 2 tests before travelling.
Liam McArthur, Liberal Democrat candidate for the Orkney Constituency has called on the Scottish Government to provide urgent clarity around future coronavirus restrictions in the islands.
To date, NHS Orkney has vaccinated 48.2% of islanders with the 1st dose of the Covid vaccine and 4% with the 2nd dose.
Another positive case of Covid19 has been recorded in Orkney bringing the cumulative total to 62.
Orkney’s cumulative total of Covid19 positive test results is now at 35.
As numbers of positive cases of Covid19 continue to be recorded in Orkney, now at 33 in total, it has been confirmed that the islands will be placed in the Tier 1 level of restrictions in Scotland starting on Monday.
The cumulative number of positive Covid19 tests recorded in Orkney now stands at 31.
