Data published by the National Records of Scotland on 21st of July 2022 records the following number of Covid related deaths:
- As of 17th July 2022, there have been a total of 15,179 deaths registered in Scotland where the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was mentioned on the death certificate.
- In week 28 (11th July to 17th July) there were 82 deaths involving COVID-19 (same as previous week).
- The provisional total number of all deaths registered in Scotland in week 28 of 2022 (11th July to 17th July) was 1,169 (121 or 12% above the 5-year average).
1 death involving Covid-19 was recorded in Orkney on 11th of July.
Of the 82 Covid related deaths in Scotland, 46 of those are where Covid was the underlying cause of death.
Age Groups Covid Related Deaths:
- Age 15 – 44: 1 death
- Age 45 – 64: 6 deaths
- Age 65 – 74: 13 deaths
- Age 75 – 84: 25 deaths
- Age 85+: 37 deaths
Of the 82 deaths: 35 were female and 47 male
Locations of the deaths were as follows: Care Home, 14 deaths; Home/Non Institutional Setting, 11 deaths; Hospital, 57 deaths
