UHI Orkney will host an exhibition of the work of the students of the Art and Design Department.
The exhibition will feature the work of three students graduating from the BA Fine Art this year: Alex Muir, Hilary Swanney and Mia Train.
Continuing BA students will also be exhibiting their art from this year. NC students will also display their favourite works from a year of inspiration and experimentation with a variety of materials.
The show is open daily from Saturday 6th June to Wednesday 14th June 10am—4pm (closed Sunday). Late openings on Wednesdays to 7pm.
On Friday 5th June, 6pm—8pm there is a special opening night event , with drinks generously provided by Kirkness & Gorie. All are welcome.
The exhibition is at the UHI Orkney Department of Art and Design, East Road, Kirkwall KW15 1LX.
On Saturday 6th June at 11am the graduating artists will conduct a tour of their show — an informal chance to hear more about the work, and talk about inspiration, materials and processes of their work.
On Monday 15th June at 2pm there will be a Flax Sharing session, exploring the material that is central to Alex Muir’s exhibition.
