‘Skate Boys’ is an exhibition and program of events by Orkney and Aberdeenshire artists Nick Gordon and David Blyth taking place during Stromness Shopping Week.
The Summer Exhibition hosted by For Arts Sake is on now till 27th of July upstairs in the Anchor Buildings, Bridge Street Kirkwall.
Northlight gallery in Stromness hosted an exhibition of oil paintings and sculptures by artist Caroline Appleyard, and photographs by Marjo Tynkkynen, called ‘Scapa Flow: Up Close & Underwater.’
The stunning underwater photographs of parts of the sunken German High Seas Fleet lying in Scapa Flow were taken over a 4 year period from 2014 – 2018.
Artist Samantha Clark’s design has been converted into a thirty-metre long mural by LUSTALUX Ltd, who provide high quality wall and window graphics.
Part of the #Scapa100 commemorations it will be open at 6pm on Saturday 15th and then daily from 2pm – 7pm until Wednesday 26th of June.
An art installation based on George Mackay Brown’s cycle of poems ‘Tryst on Egilsay’ is to be opened on Saturday 1 June at St Clement’s Church, Rodel, Harris.
Taboo the new exhibition by Patty Boonstra is on at the Old Library, Kirkwall from 11th of May to 1st of June .
