Kirkwall thronged with visitors and locals who came out to watch an impressive display to mark 100 years of the Kirkwall City Pipe Band.

The parade on Saturday 17th of August saw Kirkwall City Pipe Band (past and present members) joined by Thurso, Stomness RBL and Rendall Pipe Bands.
Before the parade the pipers rehearsed in the nearby streets – photographed here by Nick Morrison.
And the crowds loved it. 
What a great event and superb performances by all the pipe bands.
