There is a lovely display of Christmas trees in the centre of Kirkwall.
The tree outside St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall is shining its lights out to cheer on shoppers and passers by.
It is a symbol of the lasting friendship between the county of Vestland in Norway and Orkney and always heralds the start of the Festive season in the islands when the Christmas tree arrives.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 2pm.
Arcadia Park is located opposite the new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall and the space is being transformed.
The project won highly commended in the ‘new life for old buildings’ category.
St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall, Orkney was lit up in red to commemorate Armistice, on 11th of November.
On Remembrance Sunday, November 8th 2020, Orkney remembered all those who had suffered and died as a result of war and conflict.
Many of the shops in Kirkwall have made quite a spooktacular effort to entice us to shop local.
