A cold wind and occasional rainfall did not dampen the spirits of islanders and visitors in supporting the Kirkwall RNLI open day at their lifeboat shed on Saturday 27th May.

The Christmas tree on the Kirk Green outside St Magnus Cathedral was gifted by the county of Vestland in Norway.
There were many events from Friday to Sunday, including a parade. On Sunday there was a community barbeque with lots of activities for bairns.

The Tog, led by Kirkwall City Pipe Band, saw the welcome return of children and the public joining in the walk from the Pier Head to St Magnus Cathedral.
