Deerness Tree Lighting Ceremony.

With a little coaxing the crowd moved round into the shelter of the hall to avoid the worst of the wind and showers.  Not so the five hardy pipers from Kirkwall City Pipe Band who entertained us while we prepared to turn on the lights.

The honour this year fell to Linda Bonner who is retiring next year as hall caretaker after many years keeping everything ship-shape.

With lights on we all moved into the hall for a warming cup and some home bakes with more entertainment from the Orkney Traditional Music Project.
