Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Shetland to start, clearing to bright spells and showers in the afternoon. Mainly dry with sunny spells for Orkney. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells for Orkney throughout. A few showers for Shetland in the evening, but these largely easing off overnight. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Friday 16 January :

Dry and bright with good spells of sunshine for Orkney throughout. Cloudier but still mostly dry for Shetland, though the odd shower is possible. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Often dry with bright spells and variable amounts of cloud. Some showers around, chance of these becoming quite persistent at times.
