One of our Ukrainians here in Orkney has messaged me:

“Unfortunately, there is a blackout in Ukraine right now, there is no electricity for many hours, it is cold in the apartments, many people have no water because the pipes cracked from the frost.

“And the winter this year is very cold. Great trials for our people. This is the price for freedom and independence from the savages called Russians. But I am sure that my people will endure and win. Thank you for your support and help.”

Please offer to sponsor a Ukrainian person or family if you can.

There may be other opportunities to volunteer to help with conversation skills to improve the language fluency of those already here, in the very near future.
