Clear spells for Orkney with the odd spot of light rain. Outbreaks of rain for Shetland generally clearing by midnight but remaining cloudy thereafter. Strong southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Cloudy with rain over Orkney spreading to Shetland in the afternoon. Showers following for Orkney. Strong to gale force southeasterly winds Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Strong to gale force southeasterly winds continuing through Thursday and Friday. Remaining rather cloudy with showery outbreaks of rain. Turning colder from Friday.
