It will be a cloudy day with outbreaks of rain throughout. Rain starting to ease with drier spells developing later afternoon into evening. Strong southeasterly winds with gales easing through the morning. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

It will remain cloudy through the evening and overnight period with outbreaks of rain interspersed with dry spells. Strong southeasterly winds easing to fresh overnight. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday 29 January :

Another cloudy day to come with outbreaks of rain across Orkney and Shetland. Rain mostly light with dry spells. Fresh southeasterly winds strengthening in the evening. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining unsettled and cloudy with outbreaks of rain, which may be heavy at times and wintry on Friday. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds.
