Today 11 March :

Cloudy start with showers or longer spells of rain. Then brightening up from the west with a few passing showers. Windy with strong to gale west or southwesterly winds, occasionally severe gale across Orkney at first. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will spread from the west this evening. Then the rest of the night will see spells of rain, becoming persistent and occasionally heavy later. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday 12 March :

Rain, heavy at times, will clear from the west in the morning. Then becoming brighter with showers. Fresh southwesterly winds. Cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cold with bright spells and showers on Friday and Saturday. Rain spreading east on Sunday followed by a few showers.
