Wintry showers becoming isolated then dying out, some sunny spells as the strong northwesterly winds ease. Cloud and light rain will reach Orkney by evening with freshening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Rain over Orkney extending to Shetland this evening with southerly winds increasing strong to gale. Turning clearer with occasional showers in early hours, winds veering southwest fresh to strong. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Friday 27 March :

A bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional showers, some briefly heavy. Strong and gusty southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday will bring clear or sunny intervals and showers, with strong to gale force winds. Wet and windy Sunday morning then brighter with showers later. Bright and showery on Monday.
