Showers and the occasional bright spell for much of the day, These showers will be heavy and wintry at times with snow on the hills. Cloud will thicken and showers become frequent across Orkney later. Near gale, blustery westerly wind. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Wintry showers will clear and the wind will die down for a time overnight. The wind will strengthen again as cloud and rain spread east towards morning. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday 29 March 🕰️:

Early cloud and rain will clear to bright spells and showers from the morning. The showers will be wintry over high ground. Windy in the morning. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloud and wintry showers clear and the wind eases down later Monday. A band of cloud, rain, drizzle passes east Tuesday. Further rain and showers follow southeast Wednesday.
