It looks like they blew over some time ago and have been left in place, which is A GOOD THING and just one aspect of how well the Friends of Happy Valley are caring for the place…..

Some fallen wood has been used to make a most excellent den
We came across a Burying Beetle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burying_beetle who had got a bit lost and was on the concrete edging of the stream
So we carefully placed it back on the bank where it could bury to its heart’s content.
