Arcadia Park is located opposite the new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall and the space is being transformed.
“This £1 million fund, delivered by the Scottish Government, is an exciting opportunity for local projects and locally-based online businesses to support town centres and promote their local community. “
“This fund will help initiatives supporting businesses, such as projects to encourage safe shopping, business and leisure opportunities, promoting and advertising local providers of online shopping or enhancing visitor appeal.”

The challenge is available to all primary and secondary schools as well as community groups and libraries in Scotland, and aims to build positive reading cultures and improve literacy for young people.

In total for Scotland £56,060,000 has been shared directly to councils, voluntary groups and the national shielding boxes. £99,000 was allocated to Orkney.
