Without the remarkable actions of Thora, the mother of Magnus, the cult of St Magnus, the mighty cathedral and even the St Magnus International Festival would not exist. David McNeish’s new play brings Thora to the fore , a name mentioned in the sagas but about whom little is known.
Protest, the new play from Hannah Lavery (Lament for Sheku Bayoh, Drift) and directed by Northern Stage’s own Natalie Ibu (Artistic Director of Northern Stage, Road, The White Card), comes to Orkney Theatre on Thursday 18 May.
Additional funding is to be made available to Scotland’s Local Authorities to improve play parks.
