Out of 202 school leavers, 195 Orcadian students have gone on to positive destinations in the period 2020/2021.
“Nothing is more important than ensuring every child and young person has the same opportunity to succeed in education, regardless of their background – we will deliver this for them.”
The grant will be targeted at people who are in receipt of Universal Credit or legacy benefits, with some discretion to make awards to others in financial hardship.
The £250 School Age Payment is for families with a child old enough to start primary school this August and is part of the Best Start Grant
