Orkney Camerata Pleasing the Crowds

By Nick Morrison

Last Sunday evening ORKNEY CAMERATA gave another of their superb performances to 267 people in the Cathedral. The works of James Oswald, Georg Telemann, and Antonio Vivaldi were performed. These three baroque composers are quite different in musical character.

The orchestra was brilliantly led by the Polish violinist Rafal Zambrzycki-Payne . Rafal was obviously pleased to be leading the Camerata. The applause brought him back to take an encore.

James Oswald (1710 – 1769) Scottish composer
Georg Telemann (1681 –  1767) German composer
Antonio Vivaldi (1678 – 1741) Italian composer
